The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver review is here. First, I want to thank Random House for sending me a free copy of this book. As many of you know, I am a huge Josie Silver fan. I absolutely adored her holiday novel One Day in December and could not wait to read this book.
It centers around Lydia, who has found her forever love, Freddie. They have been together for over ten years and love each other wholeheartedly. What Lydia never prepared for is Freddie tragedy dying in a car accident. It leaves Lydia shattered, not wanting to live in a world without Freddie at her side. What makes it harder is Lydia knows Freddie would want her to be happy and live her life. After all, she is only twenty-eight and cannot stop living.
Lydia decides to try with the help of her sister and best friend. But then she learns she can live in a world with Freddie, but it isn’t the real world. In the real world, a new love she never expected to find has planted roots in her heart. Living two lives starts to become impossible, forcing Lydia to make a decision that can break her heart either way. Can she? Will Lydia decide to live in a fantasy world with Freddie or start an all-new life in reality with someone new? It’s a tug of war that will pull your heart to pieces.
I must say this book made me cry, laugh, and hug it all at once!
Josie Silver did it again. This book was a true pleasure to read. I loved the original plot, the dynamic characters, and the fact the book brought out such strong emotions. As many of you know, I love a book that tugs at my heart, makes me think, and stays with me. This book did all three. I am still thinking of this book, feeling my heart jolt. It was a compelling love story that I will definitely be reading again!
