This week on my bookshelf House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig, A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer, Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling.
This week is one of my favorite book weeks as all these fantasy books I cannot wait to dive into. House of Salt and Sorrows centers around Annaleigh. She lives at Highmoor, a dwelling by the ocean. Her sisters start dying, which raises questions with Annaleigh. Are their deaths an accident or is it a curse that will end up taking the lives of herself and her sisters?! I started to read this one and the story captured my attention! I cannot wait to continue reading.
A Curse so Dark and Lonely comes next. This novel is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a fantasy twist. The protagonist is Harper who doesn’t let anything slow her down not even her cerebral palsy. Getting captured by Prince Rhen’s loyal follower is just the beginning as this tale is more capturing than any retelling I’ve read before and cannot wait to read the entire book!
Now, Wicked Saints was one of the most anticipated books I got this week. It is a capturing tale about Nadaya who is blessed by the gods with gifts, giving her the ability to talk to them and possess powers. She must decide to use them to restore her land once and for all. But is she strong enough to do it? With her path intertwining with unexpected allies, this dark tale is a refreshing addition to the YA fantasy world!
Finally, there is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It is a classic in the fantasy collection and one I find more than intriguing! Harry is my favorite characters ever in a novel! He is fun, witty, and clever. I love his story and J.K.
Which book have you read or want to read the most? Write-in and tell me! If you want to see more go to my INSTA too!
