Summer is here, and that means it’s time to pull out some of my favorite beach reads for summer! Since I live by the beach, I always try to spend time sitting in the sand relaxing during summertime. However, I never go empty-handed. I always have beach reads with me tucked in my tote.
I was so excited when I saw the beach reads for summer 2024 this year. From Mary Kay Andrews to Abby Jimenez, there are so many new reads for summer it gets hard to keep track of the ones worth reading! Fear not; I put together the 10+ Beach Read for Summer 2024, so you don’t have to look any further to find your next favorite beach read!

1. Just for the Summer by Abby Jimenez
Just for Summer by Abby Jimenez is a story centering around Justin and Emma. Justin is cursed with never finding that special someone. Anytime he goes on a date with someone, they break up, and then his date goes on to find true love. Not him. When this ‘curse’ is posted on a Reddit thread and the world suddenly finds out his secret, the DMs keep coming.
But when Emma writes in to say she has the same problem as him, they hatch a plan. They’ll date each other and then break up to break the curse. Simply right? But what happens when the two start to find themselves falling for each other? Is it the curse or true love? Find out when you read Just for Summer!
2. Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood
Not In Love by Ali Hazelwood is just in time for summer! The novel centers around Rue Siebert and Eli Killgore. Rue is satisfied with her life. I mean, she has exactly what she needs: friends she can count on to be there, a stable job at Kline, and a great career as a biotech engineer. But all of her stability gets shaken when Eli comes into the picture.
Eli and his team want to take over Kline. However, Rue won’t let that happen. The two fight, but they also are drawn closer and unable to fight off the attraction they feel toward each other. 3. Funny Story by Emily Henry
Daphne never stopped loving the way her fiance, Peter, talked about their story of how they met and fell in love. Well, that changed when Peter decided to leave Daphne for his childhood best friend, Petra. Now, Daphne has to figure out a life in Michigan where she knows no one. The only thing she has is a new job she loves as a librarian.
To get by, she decides to room with Miles (Petra’s ex), much to her dismay. Miles is nothing like her, and she avoids him until they decide to hatch a plan on social media to make it look like they’re having summer adventures. Will the fake photos lead to a real romance? 4. This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune
This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune is here! The protagonist, Lucy, vacations on Prince Edward Island and runs into a local named Felix. The two’s chemistry is undeniable, and they can’t keep away from each other. However, Lucy finds out Felix is her best friend’s younger brother.
This puts a halt to things, but that doesn’t mean that every time Lucy shows up on the island, she can stop herself from ending up in Felix’s arms. When her best friend abruptly leaves her wedding a week before walking down the aisle, Lucy follows her to the island. This leads her back to Felix, where the sparks reignite. 5. The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren

6. The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center
All Emma Wheeler wants is to be a screenwriter. She’s a good writer too, having won contests, but she’s also the caregiver to her dad. However, when her screenwriter god grants her wish when the Charlie Yates contacts her to re-write a script. Emma’s sister steps up to help with her dad and she goes to L.A.
However, things are not what she thought when she discovers Charlie Yates, and his writing is nothing like what she expected. Emma won’t back down to let Charlie ruin her screenwriting dreams.
7. The Book Rule by Sarah Adams
Nora Mackenzie is a new sports agent, and her new career depends on her ex, Derek Pender, who also happens to be a very famous NFL tight end. The two didn’t exactly break up on great terms, and now Nora has to face the backlash because Derek hasn’t forgotten nor let go of his break-up grudge.

8. Summers at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews
St. Cecelia is known as a beautiful hotel. If you’re local and grew up there, you’re known as ‘a Saint.’ But if you’re like Traci Eddings, you didn’t and labeled ‘an Ain’t.’ Tracie, however, gets a job at St. Cecelia one summer, and one thing leads to the next, and she marries the son of the owner.
However, after he passes away, Traci is left with the hotel and is determined to restore it to its glory days. Everyone wants to know more about them, like how they got many funds in their bank account they flaunt. Between the private yachts and lavish parties, they’re anything but subtle. But when tragedy strikes and their home burns to the ground and staff goes missing, the island may never be the same again. Swan Song is the last novel in Elin’s Nantucket book collection.
10. A Novel Love Story by Ashley Posten
Eileen Merriweather loves living her happily ever after through a book. It’s her escape because after being left at the altar, she feels safe. It’s perhaps why Eileen can’t wait for her book retreat, but on the way there, her car breaks down, and she finds herself in a literal novel town. Eloraton is everything her imagination thought of when she read her favorite romance series. However, she soon discovers that for this novel town to find its happily ever after, she’ll have to deal with a certain grumpy bookstore owner.
11. Daydream by Hannah Grace
Henry Turner procrastinates and that lands him in hot water with a certain professor. Not to mention, Henry is the new hockey captain which he didn’t exactly want. Halle Jacobs is definitely no procrastinator. She has plenty to do and when Henry interrupts her book club, she decides to offer her tutor services. Afterall, trying something new will break her writer’s block, right?
