Little Black Maxi

As you guys know I love fashion and dresses! I came across this solid black maxi dress at Original Piece Boutique in Jacksonville, Florida. As soon as I saw it I fell in love! I love the neckline and the side slit! It’s perfect for date nights or for a night out with the girls!

I decided to try it on and it fits amazing! I love the accented top because I can do a simple necklace and a pair of my favorite heels or flats to dress this look up or down!
This maxi is a new favorite… let’s be honest can you ever have too many little black dresses? I took a selfie in the dress so you guys could see what it looks like on!

I’m a Sweet Peach Girl

So as most of you guys know I love makeup. I’ve read so many reviews on the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette and have wanted it for so long! Every time I go to purchase it it’s sold out in-store. But the other day when I walked into Ulta I was in luck because they just got in their shipment of it and were fully stocked! I grabbed one and couldn’t wait to go home and try it.

Overall I absolutely LOVE this product. At first I thought it might hurt my eyes because it is scents and definitely smells like peaches which I love. It sounds weird but it smells amazing even when you wear the product! But the good news is the product doesn’t bother me. I can wear it all day and it’s awesome, it doesn’t come off when you wear it or anything.

Today I’m wearing a mix of White Peach, Cobbler, and Caramelized. I mixed the Cobbler and Caramelized colors together to achieve a mix of hues. I applied that on the top of my lid and then to accent underneath my eyebrows I use the Nectar and White Peach.
The colors are so easy to apply and is my new ‘go-to’ palette. I’m replacing my Naked Palette with this one for now! Underneath my eye I used Tempting to give an accent color.

What colors are your favorite in this palette?! I can’t wait to try a new peach smokey look next time I use it tomorrow. Above I posted a close-up of the palette so if you don’t have yet or aren’t familiar you can see what a close-up look of the palette actually looks like.
I love the fact that it has a mix of colors so the hues can look good on any skin tone which I think is a huge key! COMMENT BELOW if you love the SWEET Peach Palette!

Puppy Love

So it’s been a while since I’ve written a ‘diary entry’ for you guys so here is one today. In case you guys didn’t know I got a puppy dalmatian {almost} five months ago at the end of the month. I’ve heard the saying ‘a puppy is a lot of work,’ or a ‘puppy will be your kid.’ But I never actually though twice about it until I got Gatsby my puppy dalmatian.

Gatsby is definitely a full time job. He is the cutest and sweetest dog and is very loyal but he takes work 24/7. I don’t even have time to watch T.V. or sit peacefully between working and taking care of him. He is already over 35 pounds and is definitely only going to get bigger. He is full of energy and I have walk him everyday and he is teething to bones are a requirement.
I enrolled him in puppy training at Petsmart and we are working on the first set of training exercises this week which he has been doing awesome at. I have what they call a ‘clicker’ which helps keep him focused when he’s training that work amazingly.
I’ve had a hard time with toilet training but I’m going to try a bell at the door so he knows to ring it when he has to go.

Overall having a puppy has been awesome, but also comes with a lot a lot a lot of work. If you aren’t prepared to take on a huge a responsible that will required all your time I don’t recommend getting a puppy. A lot of people think dogs are easy but they aren’t. You have to work with them in a healthy way and take care of them 24/7.
Gatsby is definitely a blessing, but is definitely in his terrible two stage.
Do you have a puppy?! What kind of puppy do you have?

Live Life in Full Color

Capture your own originality and express this week in color through your fashion choice. I love this dress from Original Piece and I love the tassel additions. It gives this dress a trendy twist I love. Plus, I’m a huge fan of the new off-the-shoulder trend and this dress had all of that. You can pair this dress with sandals or wedges and dress it up for a fun date night or for a fun girls’ night in.
What do you THINK of this photo?! Live this week in color!

Elsa Inspired Braid

So today I decided to try the Elsa braid! I was going out and I always wear my hair the same way: half-up half-down or in a ponytail. So I decided to change up my look.

The Elsa braid I have to say I LOVE it. It gave a fun twist to my fall look and I loved it! I watched a Youtube tutorial on how to do the Elsa braid and mixed that in with a French braid. Once I did that, it was easy to finish! I wore it on the side just like Elsa!
Next fall outfit I can’t wait to do the Elsa inspired braid again.

Comment below and let me know what YOU think of my Elsa Inspired braid?!

Dear Diary… Road to Recovery

So some of you who follow me on Instagram (@HeyitsCarlyRae) or Snapchat (HeyitsCarlyRae) might have seen I was at Mayo Clinic for surgery this past week. I’ve had tons of people write in and message me about it and wonder if I was okay! Which I appreciate all the love!

Pre-Surgrey Selfie
Pre-Surgery Selfie

I had to undergo an eardrum replacement surgery. No one really knows but I’ve grew up having over ten operations on my ear due to a hole in my eardrum that in turn never got fixed. But through the years my hearing and health of the ear has decreased so I had to undergo an operation to fix it.
It was a long three hour surgery with hours in recovery but after a day I got to come home. So far the surgrey has been successful and even though there is a lot of bruising and numbness I am starting to feel like my old self again. It will be over a month until I do physical activity which as you know I love fitness so that’s going to be really hard!!! But I’m thankful for the entire staff at Mayo Clinic and how amazing the ear surgeon was and all of the nurses. Each and every one of them were so nice and so caring! I admit I was really scared for the surgery! You start freaking out about everything, but the entire staff was amazing and they did an amazing job of keep my family updated of everything during and after surgery.

4 Days Post Surgery!
4 Days Post Surgery!

I am so thankful to now be home and to get my ear that is now without a hole healed! I will definitely keep you up-to-date on everything. You won’t be seeing too many new selfies or posts yet, but as soon as I take one I’ll be sure to share it with you all!!! It was a long road trip home but definitely worth it!!!
