Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma Review
Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma Review is here…Bookish Besties are you looking for a diverse rom-com? You will not regret picking this one up!
There are so many different platforms and sources readers today can get their recommendations from. Sometimes it gets confusing! If you are a book lover, you also probably think there are so many books and much less time! I know I think that all the time. That’s why we are here, reading the books before you have to! Let me point you to a specific genre and subgenre- Romance with diverse representation! This book specifically breaks some barriers within that genre and is just a really good book which is why I think it is even important to check out!
Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma is a romantic comedy that features enemies to lovers, a cast of best friends, and a gaggle of aunties determined to make a match. I was lucky enough to get an ARC ( advanced readers copy ) of this book even before the buzz around this started building up! It was one of the Book of the Month picks for April and has been featured as a ‘to-read romance’ in the New York Times, Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed, Popsugar, and more!
If you want to put all the elements and tropes into one book, Dating Dr. Dil does just that. You have enemies to lovers, fake dating, and a strong independent woman who is a softie at heart. She is looking for that great love that her parents shared. Then you have the hero who is tall, dark, handsome, successful, and rich but has sworn off love! It’s a story inspired by the classic love story but told with a modern twist!
This book is hilarious, emotional, and heart-warming.
It takes you on a journey with Prem and Kareena both individually and together, as they discover themselves and find their way to themselves. When I was talking about breaking barriers, most romance novels that South Asian writers write are closed-door romances. This one, though, is SPICY. There is a shower scene and a garage scene—so many make sure you have some cold water with you. If all of that is not loveable enough, you have a crew of hilarious aunties intervening in Kareena’s life. And they think it’s their absolute right to do so! Lastly, this is a trilogy, so you will see some of your favorite characters getting their own books! The next one is slated to come out next year. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t recommend it enough!
