The story starts with Quinn and Graham first meeting during one of the worst days of their lives. They caught their partners cheating on them. The universe must be on their side because they met again on the 8th of August, which led to their beautiful love story. But their love and marriage are being threatened and are falling apart as they encounter infertility. Memories they built are torn apart by secrets they built between them and mistakes they keep creating as they avoid talking about what’s happening in their marriage.

My thoughts:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

We cannot deny the fact that Colleen Hoover is the Queen of emotional damage. She knows how to tug and break your heart. But she also possesses the magic of putting it back together. Of all the CoHo books I’ve read, Quinn and Graham’s story tugged my heart the most. I love how fate brought Quinn and Graham together. The alternating past and present narration was a roller coaster of emotions, and the intensity of the ending was beyond what I wished for.

It was painful, but it was full of realization and tender love. Graham was not perfect, but he was the heart, soul, and patience of the story. Quinn’s character was frustrating, but I understand where she is coming from. This book tackled a sensitive topic that people try to avoid discussing. Infertility affects both couples, but it hits women harder. Women go through different emotions as they try to conceive. But when things don’t go as planned, women experience that silent struggle, suffering, and feeling of inadequacy. I think that’s what made me love the book. It felt real, and it was like the author spoke for me.

I also appreciate that she showed how men feel during infertility. This book might tear the readers apart, but it will remind readers that no love story is perfect. Every couple goes to different storm categories, and things can get messy. But it’s up to the couple to endure the storm with the strength of their love.
