Something Wilder by Christina Lauren

5 Best Christina Lauren Books

Genre: Fiction/ Romance

Rating

This book follows Lily Wilder and Leo Grady during their second chance at romance. Lily is running an adult adventure camp in hopes of buying back her family ranch. She has all but forgotten about her childhood sweetheart, Leo, until he shows up at camp with a group of his friends. Leo is determined to win Lily back, while she’s determined to leave him in the past and move forward. Unfortunately, she has a hard time ignoring her feelings. Things take a twist when there is an opportunity to hunt for treasure. Lily and Leo work together following the clues her dad left her while also reigniting the flame they thought was extinguished. I recommend this book because it kept me guessing and swooning. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Lily and Leo.

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

Genre: Fiction/ Romance

Rating

Olive has always been unlucky in life. But her luck begins to turn around when her twin sister gets sick at her wedding reception and convinces Olive to go on the honeymoon instead. There’s just one problem. Ethan, Olive’s sworn enemy, is coming with her. Everything will be fine as long as they can stay far away from each other. That plan is ruined when, at the resort, Olive and Ethan run into someone they know and are forced to pretend to be married to each other. Things shift from enemies to lovers the more time they spend together. When Ethan confesses his true feelings, Olive is forced to rethink her perception of him. I recommend this book because I found Olive super relatable and I loved watching her journey. I also loved how this book made me laugh out loud at some of the situations the characters found themselves in.

Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

Genre: Fiction/ Romance

Rating

Josh and Hazel meet in college and, for her, the attraction is instant. But  Hazel ends up leaving a bad first impression. Years later,  they end up reconnecting at her best friend Emily’s house, and to Hazel’s surprise Josh is Emily’s brother. Coming out of a bad breakup, Josh has sworn off dating, but agrees to go on double dates set up by Hazel, and vice versa. Eventually, feelings begin to develop between Josh and Hazel, and they end up going on these dates just to be around each other. Friends turn to lovers, but can they let go of their own dating disasters to find happiness? This is my favorite Christina Lauren book because the characters have so much depth. You can really feel the emotions of each character and the story is truly beautiful.

The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren

Genre: Fiction/ Romance

Rating

Jess is a single mom who is tired of going on disastrous dates with men who aren’t serious. Just as she’s ready to give up on dating, she comes across a new dating app designed to find your perfect match using your DNA. She takes a chance and sets her standards to alert her when she has a certain percentage. But she isn’t expecting to be a 98% match with Dr. River Pena, the app’s founder. The company suggests they pretend to date in order to help the app become popular, and because Jess needs the money, she agrees. Their feelings shift from fake to real, but when Jess discovers some new information, it completely rocks her world. It has the ability to tear apart what she and River have built. I recommend this book for its unique take on dating apps, as well as having a strong female main character who knows what she wants.

Rating

Minnie and Reed have been best friends for a few years. They hook up after a game night, but are determined to remain just friends. They decide to sign up for a dating app, but when Minnie’s friends make fun of her page, she creates a fake account under the name Charlotte. Minnie is able to be herself while hiding behind Charlotte. As their connection grows, Reed finds himself torn between the two women. Minnie struggles to find a way to tell him the truth. I recommend this book because it makes you think about the importance of trusting yourself enough to let someone in.
