Puppy Love

So it’s been a while since I’ve written a ‘diary entry’ for you guys so here is one today. In case you guys didn’t know I got a puppy dalmatian {almost} five months ago at the end of the month. I’ve heard the saying ‘a puppy is a lot of work,’ or a ‘puppy will be your kid.’ But I never actually though twice about it until I got Gatsby my puppy dalmatian.

Gatsby is definitely a full time job. He is the cutest and sweetest dog and is very loyal but he takes work 24/7. I don’t even have time to watch T.V. or sit peacefully between working and taking care of him. He is already over 35 pounds and is definitely only going to get bigger. He is full of energy and I have walk him everyday and he is teething to bones are a requirement.
I enrolled him in puppy training at Petsmart and we are working on the first set of training exercises this week which he has been doing awesome at. I have what they call a ‘clicker’ which helps keep him focused when he’s training that work amazingly.
I’ve had a hard time with toilet training but I’m going to try a bell at the door so he knows to ring it when he has to go.

Overall having a puppy has been awesome, but also comes with a lot a lot a lot of work. If you aren’t prepared to take on a huge a responsibleΒ that will required all your time I don’t recommend getting a puppy. A lot of people think dogs are easy but they aren’t. You have to work with them in a healthy way and take care of them 24/7.
Gatsby is definitely a blessing, but is definitely in his terrible two stage.
Do you have a puppy?! What kind of puppy do you have?

  1. Toilet training takes some time, usually when you don’t see your puppy anymore it’s because she’s doing something bad. My dog is now 15 months she’s a rescue dog half jack half or more whippet. She made me go out more and meet lots of new people.
